The paper examines a film review competition as form of organizing pedagogical students’ media education on the basis aesthetically oriented approach. authors analyse experience School Education Far Eastern Federal University (Branch in Ussuriysk) short competitions. Course and diploma works school students from Russia CIS countries served material for review. Scientific originality study involves approach to an event that promotes analytical, aesthetic, communicative practical activities environment. findings indicate is relevant young people’s education. Competition help develop aesthetic taste, information search skills, skills text perception interpretation, create content, presentation critical thinking skills. papers analysis allows identifying level future teachers’ artistic development.
